Clone a source company

Many details can be cloned from an existing Company to a newly created company to save having to enter data information into an empty company

1.   Ensure the System Maintenance module is open

2.   Highlight the new company that was created

3.   Click on Properties

4.   Click on the Clone button in the top left hand corner.

5.   If a database backup has not been taken, press OK to clear the message, cancel out of the wizard, close the module and take a database backup before continuing with these steps. It is important to take a backup of the database so that if any problems occur it is possible to restore the system back to before we began the cloning.

6.   If a backup has been taken, press OK to the message.

7.   A wizard will help the user through the Clone procedure

8.   Select the Source Company using the drop down menu selection. The new Target Company will be displayed in blue

9.   The source company is the company we wish to copy information from.

10. Click on Next

11. The wizard will now step through every module, listing the information that can be cloned from each module. Tick what is required for each module, ensuring that individual items for each module have been ticked (not just the module itself) and press Next.

12. Once the appropriate modules have been selected, select Yes to the question “Do you wish to clone?” and press Finish.

13. The system will take several minutes to complete the clone process. Please don’t press any buttons until it has finished processing. A status bar at the bottom of the window will display the progress.

14. Press OK to the message confirming the clone process has completed.

15. Press OK to close the Company Details window.

16. Close the Company Maintenance window to return to the main window of Systems Maintenance.
