1. Select a menu path of File Ø New. The following window will be displayed:

2. The Entity Type field will default to Individual. You may choose from the following values:

3. Leave the Entity Type as defaulted and press Tab.
4. Enter a Title for the contact. An example would be Ms, Mr, and Dr Etc. Press Tab.
5. Enter a value into the First Name field. Press Tab.
6. Enter a value into the Last Name field. Press the Addresses tab. The following window will be displayed:

Enter an address for the Contact. When complete select the same as
Business Address
checkbox. The system will automatically
copy the data already entered and populate the Postal Address fields.
8. Press the Links tab. The following window will be displayed:

9. If you need to link the record to another existing record, this window allows you to do this. An example of why this would be useful is if you captured details at both an Individual and Company level, you could link the individual to the Company.
10. You may leave the values as defaulted and press the Properties Tab. The following window will be displayed:

11. This window allows you to assign Property codes to the contact. Select a Property from the unassigned list where it exists and press the Add button. The value will now appear in the Assigned list.
12. Press the Relationships tab. The following window will be displayed:

13. You can use this window to build relationships between Properties and Contacts. To do this, select a value from the Property List. You will see that the dynamic message will build the rule, for example is PROPERTY ONE for ABC Development. Press the Add button. The Assigned list will be updated with your selection.
14. Press the Capabilities tab. The following window will be displayed:

15. This window allows you to assign capabilities to the Contact. This is used as a search criterion for the contact. For the purposes of this exercise, press the Profile tab. The following window will be displayed:

16. The Profile window allows you to assign the contact a Profile. This is used as a search criterion for the contact.
17. Press the Categories tab. The following window will be displayed:

18. This window is used to assign the contact a Category. This is used as a search criterion for the contact.
19. Press the Links tab.

20. This window allows you to attach any relevant information to the contact. An example could be a Company Profile or brochures detailing services rendered by the organisation. To Link a file, simply press the Attach button.
21. Navigate to the appropriate sub directory and select the file you wish to attach, then press Open. When completed, press the Private tab. The following window will be displayed:

22. This window allows you to capture information that is relevant to the individual such as their birthday or home address and phone details.
23. Press the Private Notes tab. The following window will be displayed:

24. The Private Notes window allows you to capture free text pertaining to the contact. For the purposes of this exercise, press the OK button.
