Exporting Zavanti ERP reports to Excel

1.   This section provides guidance on how to export any Zavanti ERP Report into Microsoft Excel using the “File” button functionality. This method is applicable to any report with a “File” button, but for illustration purposes, we will be using the General Ledger Trial Balance as an example.

2.   Open the General Ledger module

3.   Open the Report you would like to export into Excel.

4.   Press the File button

5.   The “Print to File window” will open. Browse to where you would like to save the file, enter a file name and press Save to save the file. Ensure you select a Save as type of “Text Files” (otherwise you will not be able to open the file in Excel properly).

6.   Open a blank Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

7.   Go to File > Open. Locate where you saved the text file, highlight it, and press Open. You may need to change the file types to “All Files” to be able to see the file.

8.   The Text Import Wizard will open. Ensure Fixed Width is selected, and press Next.

9.   You are now able to specify the width of each column. The aim here is to ensure each column in the report has its own column in this window, so the data is imported into the Excel spreadsheet cells correctly. Double click to remove lines, click once to create new lines, and click and drag lines to reposition them. Note you can scroll up and down and left and right to view the data that will be imported. Once you are done, press Next.

10. Select General for the data format, and press Finish.

11. Your data will now be imported into Microsoft Excel.
