Maintaining User Defined Variables for a Fixed Asset - How To

As previously described one or many User Defined Variables may be maintained for an asset. Firstly the User Defined Variables must be defined, then as part of the Asset maintenance procedures, you can choose whether you wish to maintain the defined variable for the particular asset.

The Fixed Assets Maintenance screen shows that a User Defined Variable can be created and maintained for a particular Asset.

In order to input values for the one or many of these variables, click the ‘USE’ check box. This will then allow the user to press the User Defined button on the top of the screen. Alternatively a double click on the actual User Defined Variable will also have the same effect.

When this button is pressed after selection of a particular User Defined Variable the Asset’s User Defined Variables screen will appear. This screen will differ for each of the user defined variables you have defined.

The 2 fields, MAKE and MODEL can be defined and the user may now input the values for the particular Asset selected. Of course, the input will depend on the type of field created and the number of fields defined. These fields may be left blank.
