To enter a Unit of measure for a BOM item
The Unit of Measure applies to BOM Items only. This refers to how much of the composed item is made up by the items in the BOM, and describes this amount in integers. For example: if a 3m sq. section of decking is composed of 32 lengths of timber, 92 screws and quarter of a litre of varnish, the Unit Of Measure for this Section of Flooring BOM Item is 3. If we were to describe only 1 sq. metre of flooring, we would need to include 10.666666666666666666666666666667 lengths of timber, 30.666666666666666666666666666667 screws and 0.33333333333333333333333333333333 of a litre of varnish. Therefore, the Unit of Measure makes it easier for us to quantify a BOM item.

2. Click in the Unit of Measure field
3. Enter a
number in the Unit of Measure text box
this number describes how much this
Bill of Materials makes up e.g. 3 sq. metres of decking.

If this BOM item is included in an estimate, the estimate uses the Unit
of Measure to calculate the correct amount. It multiplies the Quantity, by
