Updating journals posts their values to the Assets Written Down Values and makes each Journal non-editable. Up to running this function depreciation journals can be amended with the Journals function.
1. Select the Update journals option from the Transaction menu.
2. Alternatively you can select the Journal Update button from the main window toolbar.
3. Either option will create the Fixed Assets Update Journals screen.
4. The Update Journals screen will allow the user to update all Unposted Asset Depreciation Journals to the General Ledger.

Company Combo Box |
The Company Combo Box item is populated with a list of available companies. The user then selects the required company for which to update journals. |

Period To Update |
The Period to Update Combo Box is populated with a list of available periods, select the period you wish to update the journals. |

Print Journal Listing |
If the Print Journal Listing Report Box is checked, a report will be printed listing all journals that were updated. This report will print out after pressing the Update button. This report can be reprinted with the Reprint Journal Update Report function in the Reports Menu. This also allows the user to check the listing prior to confirming the posting of journals to the General Ledger. |

Update Push Button |
The Update Push button updates all non-updated journals for the selected period and company. The Written Down Value of each Asset is adjusted by the amount of the journal. |
