User Defined Variables

Throughout all the modules User Defined Variables are a way of allowing you to maintain additional information about items, in this case Fixed Assets. You can define any number of UDV’s, each with up to 10 attributes. Any number of UDV’s can then be stored against each Asset, thereby enabling you to hold a wide variety of information that the system does not normally store. These UDV’s are particularly useful when company or industry specific details are required that the software does not provide.

1.   Select the User Defined Variables option from the maintenance menu options

2.   Once you have made this choice you will be presented with the User Defined Variables dialogue box, which will allow you to define, amend or delete your User Defined Variables.

3.   To create a new UDV press New. To amend the Properties or delete an existing item select the row in the table, the Properties and Delete button will become enabled. Press these buttons to amend or delete. These three buttons create the User Defined Variables Details screen.

4.   To see a listing report of existing UDV’s press preview to view the report to the screen or Print to print the listing on a printer.
