A Company code must exist in each of your modules and the code and the company details are created by using the Systems Maintenance Module, Company pushbutton. A Company code can be 3 alphanumeric characters. Although the term Company is used, this can in fact be any trading entity for which you require a separate Balance Sheet or Profit Statement. For instance a Unit Trust, Family Trust, Pty. Ltd. Company etc. Companies can be consolidated easily at the time of running reports, in both the Development Ledger and General Ledger.
General Ledger Interfaces, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable accounts, etc. are all maintained and held on a company-by-company basis. We suggest that when you set up a company you use a number system. You can also include this number in your description of the company and this will make it easier for you to identify company codes on reports.
E.g. Company code ‘100’, Description ‘100-My New Company’.
