Create New Contract

Create New Contract and describe the Contract Header in detail.

2.  Open Contract Management
Depending on how Contract Management is set up, you will either see a table view of existing contracts, or if it is tree view, you will see all the jobs

3.  Click on New

4.  Enter a Contract Identifier

5.  The Contract Identifier is used to uniquely identify the contract within the Job. This might normally relate to what would be written on the tab of a manual binder for easily identifying the folder on a shelf.

6.  Choose the Job that this contract is for

7.  Enter the Details of the Contract (e.g. Excavation)

8.  These details can be as brief or explanatory as you wish. It is meant to describe the services or works to be completed by the subcontractor

9.  Enter the Contract Value

10. This is the value that will be committed against the job/cost centre budget and will be known as the Contract Budget.

11. Select the Tax Code 
For example, G11 - Non Capital Purchases

12. Enter the Contract Date

13. This is normally the date the contract was signed.

14. Select the Contract Controller

15. This is the person responsible for managing this contract.

16. Enter a Supplier

17. Enter a Date for Practical Completion

18. This is the date from the expected practical completion and can be modified at any stage. There is also a field here to enter an Actual date of Completion.

19. Enter a Defect Liability Period and End of Defect date if applicable.
This is the period that we have to identify defects to the contractor

20. Enter a Liquidated Damages per day if applicable and check radio button for Calendar or Working Days

21. Check the Yes option for Has Guarantee been supplied
We will not be dealing with retention for example, and we will assume a bank guarantee has been supplied 

22. Click on Save. Click on OK to confirm

23. Note that the tabs that were previously ghosted are now available.
