Profit & Loss

The Company reporting of the System Trial Balance Report, the Profit/Loss report, and the balance sheet allow us to view the overall financial position of your enterprise.

The General Ledger is equipped with a reporting tool of its own, the Financial Report Writer (FRW). You can create your own Profit/Loss statement using the FRW, and customize the report. Initial reports are normally created during implementation. As some time you may wish to modify existing or create new reports for your own use.

1.  Ensure you are in General Ledger

2.  Click on the FRW button on the toolbar. This opens a separate window that displays the Financial Report Writer program. You can customize the Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet here. Apart from the Power Writer module, and the Development Ledger Report writer, this is the only place you can manually modify a report  

3.  Click on Open.

4.  The financial report writer has a series of reports already installed that we can access right away. If the Chart of Accounts is based on one of the demonstration Zavanti ERP companies, you will see the correct report here. If not, you will need to modify the report. This will be covered in a later session 

5.  Click on Profit and Loss Statement, and click on OK. The report will appear in the Financial Report Writer window 

6.  Review the layout of the report, before we run it

7.  Click Run

8.  In the Company table, in the lower right of the dialog box, click on the checkbox next to a company, to report on that company 

9.  In the Values to Use option group, choose the Profit & Loss option 

10. Choose the Report Type and Period Range options as necessary 

11. Click Preview to view the report

12. Close the report  and the Financial Report Writer
