Selecting a Work Schedule Start Date

The field ‘START DATE’ provided on the Job Task management TAB which allows the user to select the required task Work Schedule start date in order to calculate each of the scheduled dates on the window for the selected ‘Task Work Schedule’ to be assigned to the Job, from the pre-defined Task Work Schedules as maintained.

The user is able to enter a ‘Start Date’, which is usually the ‘Start of Construction date’

Depending on the ‘Task Duration’ set against the selected ‘WORK SCHEDULE’ header (see: 0) the start date selected will then calendar out the scheduled start dates of each of the tasks assigned.

The following describes the scheduled date calculations required for each Task.

‘DAY’ TASK DURATION

When this Task Duration type is selected, the ‘Start Date’ maintained here is used in conjunction with the ‘specified’ DAY and the WORK DAYS’ fields. 

For example, the sample set of tasks would include items such as those found on the existing schedule (see: Appendix 1).

Therefore, in the above example, when this task Work Schedule is selected for the Job, the ‘scheduled dates’ for the above tasks may appear as follows, if the ‘Start Date’ was set to 7-Dec-2015, and ‘Work days’ set to Mon-Fri only

However, if in the above example, if the 9-Dec-2015 was set as a ’non-work’ day due to the fact is was a Public Holiday, as maintained in the Calendar function on the Task Work Schedule Maintenance window (see: 0), then the result would have been as follows:

‘WEEK’ TASK DURATION.

When this Task Duration type is selected, the ‘Start Date’ maintained here is used in conjunction with the ‘specified’ WEEK. 

For example, a set of weekly Tasks could be set as follows

Therefore, in the above example, when this task Work Schedule is selected for the Job, the scheduled task dates for the above tasks may appear as follows, if the ‘Start Date’ was set to 8-Jul 2024

Dates are set to the END of week(s) from the Start Date selected. I.e. 7 days from Start date. No provision is made for Work Days, or ‘non work’ days as maintained in the calendar. (See: 0 – Calendar functionality)

‘MONTH’ TASK DURATION.

When this Task Duration type is selected, the ‘Start Date’ maintained here is used in conjunction with the ‘specified’ MONTH. 

For example, a set of monthly Tasks could be set as follows

Therefore, in the above example, when this task Work Schedule is selected for the Job, the scheduled task dates for the above tasks may appear as follows, if the ‘Start Date’ was set to 1-Dec-2015

Dates are set to the END of month(s) from the Start Date selected. i.e. 1 Month from Start date. No provision is made for Work Days, or ‘non work’ days as maintained in the calendar.
