Please ensure you allow sufficient time for archiving the database, as users are not permitted to log into the system while the archive is running. Depending on the size of transactions to be archived, it may take considerable time to run the archive.
1. Double click on
the Archiving shortcut to load the module
A valid license key will need to
obtained to ensure you have access to this module
2. Enter the user
name and password
Only system users, or users with access to the “Archive
Database” module in Systems Maintenance will be able to log in
3. Read the important information, and press Next to continue
4. Enter the name for the new database where all the archived
transactions will be moved to, and press Next
Please note – symbols are
not permitted in the archived database name
5. Select what modules you wish to archive data from, and press Next
6. Select a specific
company to archive data from, or tick the check box for All Companies if
required, and press Next
It is recommended to always archive all companies in
the database together.
7. Select a period
that you would like archive up to (inclusive of all prior audited periods), or
tick the checkbox to archive all audited periods and press Next
Please note
you will only see periods marked as Audited in the database. More periods will
become available once financial periods have been closed. It is recommended to
archive all available audited periods.
8. Press Finish to begin archiving
9. Once the hour glass disappears, press Cancel on the Archive wizard to close the program
10. A folder containing the
new database will have been created in the Gupta folder on the server. The
folder will have the title entered in step 4.

installations, the folder is located at C:\Gupta
